Symbol Per Charecter

The two characters I am going to be focusing on are Piggy and Jack. I think that piggy is like a nice big dopey dog. Because all he wants is peace he doesn't want to fight with people and get hurt. He is like a dog because most of the times dogs wouldn't want to hurt a fly they would just be nice and sweet. Jack on the other hand is the exact opposite and wants to fight for what he wants and is willing to kill people or animals to do so. He is the least of the group which breaks off from the main group. And crats the group of "Hunters". Thes are really some if the main charecters. There are also a lot of other charecters who could be described using symbols but these are just the two charecters I chose. Because there are just too many charecters to give symbols too. To describe who they are and how they act.

What point is the author trying to make through writing this novel/poem/etc.

I think my author is trying to get the point across that people can change who they are based on the situations they are put into. For example when people are just by themselves they may be boring and quiet. But when they are put with friends or someone they like their personality may change completely and may become a whole different person. This is shown because the characters in my book change the way they do things and the way the act and react to things based on what kind of situations they are put in. Which in this case are both dangerous and scary situations for anyone.

Krista Ramsey

The article i have selected to write about by Krista Ramsey is titled The Very Poor Case For Arming School Staff Members. It is about Boone county which is in Kentucky. It is talking about how there shouldn't not be security officers at school at all times because it may change how people act and feel at school.

"It's unrealistic and, in fact, insulting to think people who entered the profession of education should be turned into teacher-law enforcement hybrids."
This quote is important because it really sums up the way that Kristy Ramsey feels about this issue and how she believes it should be handled. This sentence is long and utilizes elevated diction.
The writing style used is organized. She keeps it very uniform and doesn't just add random things in. It flows. It also uses elevated diction and uses large complex words.
"Some of these questions came up Wednesday and were answered perfunctorily"
Questions:
Do you have family that are teachers is that why you feel so strongly about this issue?
Have you lived in Cincinnati all of your life?
When you where in highs school did you enjoy English class?

How Does It Relate to Today?

The real life issues that my books that are shown include, things like how brutal and mean people can be to each other.  This is shown because when the people who are trapped on the island with each other start to fight then things start to go wrong and get bad. For example there are eventually two groups that start to separate because of there different views on things should be done similar to today like in politics and jobs.
Another issue similar to today is how people can change how they act and what they do when they are by themselves. This is shown in the book because the characters are a group of young British school boys who all get lost and stuck on an island and they act differently then they would if they where with there parents and not by themselves. How do you think you would react if you where in the same situation as the characters in my book?

William Golding

William Golding was a novelist who was born in Cornwall, England. He wrote many books his most popular of which is Lord of The Flies, which I am reading right now. Some of his other works include the inheritors and to the ends of the earth. He also won many awards for his literary works which include the Noble prize and the Booker prize. He was also named as one of the most important British authors of his generation. He also joined the army during WWII he was part of the Royal Navy. And took place in many missions including D-day and the hunting down of German war ships. He was also later knitted by Queen Elizabeth the second for his service in the military and literary works. My question to you is based on what you have read so far do you think your author deserves the Nobel Prize for his or her literary works?
